Drypoint with chîne collé
This courses is for beginners and/or those wishing to refresh their skills.
Drypoint is an intaglio form of printmaking.
• An intaglio print is where the image is produced from below the surface of a plate.
• A print is made by inking the incised lines and recessed texture of the plate, wiping the surface, placing damp paper over the plate, and running it through a high-pressure press.
Course aims: Using a Perspex plate, you will learn how to use a drypoint needle and will explore other ways for adding texture. You will learn how to ink your plate and to add different colours with inks and by using chîne collé.
By the end of the course you will have prints to take home.
